Armand Van Helden

American DJ, record producer, remixer and songwriter, born February 16, 1970, Boston, Massachusetts. In 1988, he started as a DJ in Boston's club "Loft". His first release followed in 1992. In 1994, he reached the Dance charts for the first time with his single "[Witch Doktor](https://www.discogs.com/master/76578-Armand-Van-Helden-Witch-Doktor)". His commercial breakthrough followed in 1996 with a remix of [[artist:9902]]' song "[Professional Widow](https://www.discogs.com/master/65109-Tori-Amos-Professional-Widow)", which reached number one in UK. In the following years, Van Helden had success in both, remixing other artists and as releasing artist. He remixed songs for e.g. [[artist:20991]] and [[artist:8024]]. With his own work, he reached the top of the UK charts for the first time in 1999, when his single "[You Don't Know Me](https://www.discogs.com/master/76593-Armand-Van-Helden-Feat-Duane-Harden-You-Dont-Know-Me)" reached the peak position. His success continued in the 2000's and in 2010, when he had worldwide success with his project [[artist:224797]], he reached multiple peak positions in Europe with the single "[Barbara Streisand](https://www.discogs.com/master/284057-Duck-Sauce-Barbra-Streisand)". He founded his own label [[label:Armed Records]] in 1998, and [[label:Stupid Fresh]] in 2002.
