New Order's 19th single, released September 1989 in the UK as 12" only (7" as promos only) in an edition of 20,000. A remix of the track Run from the album Technique, it was quickly deleted after John Denver's publisher took action against the band, claiming that part of the tune resembled "Leaving On A Jet Plane". The main difference between the album version and Run 2 is that the song is replacing the long instrumental run-out with another repeat of the chorus. Most of the later compilations that list Run 2, in fact feature the album version. Peaked at # 49 in the UK singles charts.
