The 7" was commercially released on 27 June 1980, the 12" followed in August 1980. Until 17 July 1981, ca. 150,000 copies of the 7", and 25,075 of the 12" were pressed in total. All side A versions were recorded in March 1980 at Strawberry Studios, Stockport; All side B versions and These Days were recorded in January 1980 at Pennine Sound Studios, Oldham. The 7" cover comes in 4 sleeve variants: - Glossy sleeve with squared cut-out and curved glue-flaps; - Matte sleeve with squared cut-out and straight glue-flaps; - Semi-glossy sleeve without cut-out and straight glue-flaps; - Glossy sleeve without cut-out and straight glue-flaps. The 12" cover photo is a detail of the Ribaudo family tomb in the Staglieno Cemetery in Genova, Italy. The sculpture was made by Onorato Toso.
