Released in the UK on 13 June 1988 as 7", 12" and CD-Single. A CD-Video was announced for August 1988 but never released. All three tracks were produced by Martin Hannet. Atmosphere entered the UK single charts on 18 June 1988 and peaked at #34 the week after. It stayed in the charts for five weeks. A Lyntone UK repress is from July 1988. Never released in the United States. The only cassette version was released by Factory Australasia. CD-single releases only in UK, Australia and Canada. A controversial video was shot by Anton Corbijn and contains characters wearing black-hooded cloaks and white burial shrouds carrying around large pictures of the band.
