About The Fair Sex

German Electronic Wave and EBM band founded in 1984 in Essen.

The band was born from its Post Punk predecessor "Avadon", founded by band members [[artist:313212]], [L'O](https://www.discogs.com/artist/927851-LOlita) and [[artist:855245]]. After the rhythm section was replaced by [[artist:927850]] and [Rascal](https://www.discogs.com/artist/632647-Rascal-Nikov), the band was renamed to "The Fair Sex".

They recorded their first single in 1987 and their debut album in 1988. On the corresponding tour, drummer [[artist:927850]] dies during a concert in Augsburg from a heart attack on stage, which becomes a hard task for the band. The band continues without a drummer and shifts its music more to EBM. In the early 1990's, the band is a successful player in Germany's Gothic scene. In 1993, parts of the band follow the creation of side projects as the Industrial band [[artist:94688]]. At the end of 1995, the band breaks up. In 2000, a revival of the band in original line-up follows and lasts until 2005. A second revival of the band reforms in 2013.
