The debut single by Wham! released in UK 16 June 1982. Overview of versions of this title: Special U.S. Remix / U.S. Remix Part 1 (6:43) A-side of the first 12" single. This version starts with the chorus acapella. Opening verse is "Hi everybody take a look at me". Third line is "I don't need you", fourth line is "Hey jerk, you work". The version ends with the canonical acapella "enjoy what you do". This version also appears as track 4 on the album [m=102713]. Special Club Remix / U.S. Remix Part 2 (3:33) B-side to above version, which is an edit of that version. Single Version (3:30) A-side of the 7" single Club Mix (4:02) B-side of the 7" single. This version is different from the 12" B-side. Unsocial Mix (6:46) A-side of the second 12" single. The lyrics of this version are totally different from other versions. This version starts with the opening melody, without any acapellas. Opening verse is "Hi everybody take a look at me". Third line is "D.H.S.S.", fourth line is "B-1, B-2". These lines only appear in this version. This version has a cold end with a synth stab. Social Mix (6:36) B-side of the second 12" single. This version starts with a stripped down opening melody, with just bass and no synths. Opening verse is "Hi everybody now listen to me". This line only appears in this version. Third line is "I don't need you", fourth line is "Hey jerk, you work". This version has a regular fade-out. Above versions mixed by George Michael are marketed as U.S. versions but were never released in the U.S. Social and Unsocial mixes are sometimes switched sides and in other cases, the labels are flipped. Below two are the TRUE U.S. mixes, only released there and not in Europe. François K Vocal (6:58) This version is the longest of official versions out there. It starts with a synth stab and has clean drums before the opening melody kicks in. François K Instrumental (6:03) This is a dub version rather than an instrumental version.
