About Wham!

Singer George Michael & guitarist Andrew Ridgeley AKA Wham! (often written WHAM!) was a British duo formed in 1981.

George was born in East Finchley, North London, England; raised in Radlett, Hertfordshire, England.

Andrew was born in Bushey, England.

They were briefly known in the United States as "Wham! UK" because of a naming conflict with another band.

They separated in 1986 with Ridgeley pursuing race car driving, then a solo career in 1990.

Michael is the #1 Hot 100 artist of 1988.

Wham! sold 25 million certified albums from 1982 to 1986.

Michael died December 25, 2016.
