Liner Notes

"Slave to the Rhythm", the first single from the album of the same name, was a major hit and Jones' biggest chart success. The album is comprised of several versions of the same theme ("the rhythm in 8 bits"). Confusingly, on the album this single version is retitled as "Ladies and Gentlemen: Miss Grace Jones". As a result, the album title track "Slave to the Rhythm", which is entirely different, appears on many compilations, instead of the intended 'hit' version. "Slave to the Rhythm" was reissued in 1994, including several remixes, as part of the campaign to promote the compilation "[m=244931]".
