After debuting as a risqué B-side on the [m=100400] releases in 1987, "Push It" was wildly successful, leading to its release as an A-side (this Master Release) in November of that year, followed by UK and European releases in early 1988, followed by UK reissues in June to coincide with the Nelson Mandela 70th Birthday Tribute Concert. San Francisco DJ Cameron Paul's tightened-up edit, billed on releases as the Mixx-It Remix, 7" Remix, or just Remix, was the U.S. radio and hit single version. The UK/EU single version was the "U.S. Remix" which was Pete Tong's further edit of this version.
