Their 2nd single, released 29 March 1982. Both tracks later re-recorded for "[m=43104]" LP. This is the original version, produced by Mike Howlett, and comes in a light green picture sleeve. The re-recorded '83 version (also found on the LP "The Hurting") was released as their [5th single](http://www.discogs.com/master/42986) and was a Top 10 hit. In 1985, following up on the massive success of the band's second LP "[m=43063]", Mercury reissued the original mix as a single, complete with a new cream colour picture sleeve. One of Tears for Fears' oldest songs, "Pale Shelter" (along with "[m=43089]") was originally recorded for the duo's first demo tape in 1981. The title of the song is a reference to "Pale Shelter Scene", a 1941 drawing by British sculptor Henry Moore.
