**Gentle Giant Records** was an experimental/electronic music label, founded circa 1992 by [[artist:Thomas Deater]]. In 1994, he was joined by [[artist:Brent Gutzeit]] and [[artist:Michael Hartman]], fellow members of [[artist:Liminal]] ensemble. Gutzeit left in 1997 to start his own [[label:BOXmedia]] label. Gentle Giant Records released a few seminal recordings by [[artist:Otomo Yoshihide]], [[artist:Television Power Electric]], [[artist:Ground Zero (3)]] and other sound artists and ensembles on LP/7" vinyl, CDs, and tapes, as well as [r=1190132] boxset and a unique lathe cut on empty CD by [[artist:Wheaton Research]] (Brent Gutzeit's side project). The label ceased operations on January 1, 2002.
