About Was (Not Was)

Was (Not Was) is American dance pop/post disco band founded by [[artist:904879]] (a.k.a. [[artist:181257]]) and [[artist:677417]] (a.k.a. [[artist:62920]]) in 1979 in Detroit, Michigan and disbanded in 1992. They reformed in 2004.

Was (Not Was) also participated in the [[artist:Spirit Of The Forest]] project which released a [charity single](http://www.discogs.com/master/331260) in support of the [[label:Earth Love Fund]]'s campaign to help save rainforests.
