American musician, composer and producer, born September 13, 1952 in Detroit, Michigan.

Together with his schoolmate [[artist:904879]] aka [[artist:181257]], he co-founded [[artist:30093]] in 1979. The idea behind the band was to form an artificial band of brothers "Was", bulit by the "brothers" David and Don Was (Fagenson).

The band played a funky Pop and Rock mixture and was successful in the 1980's. After the band split in 1992, Fagenson continued his work as producer for numerous artists. In his career, he won 5 Grammys for songs produced by him. In 2011, he became Chief Creative Officer of [[label:77074]].
