DJ Pierre

DJ, producer, club owner and promoter from Chicago, Illinois. Pioneered the acid house sound with [[artist:Phuture]] in the mid-to-late 1980s. Signed to [[label:Jive]] in the late 1980s by former [[label:Trax Records]] A&R [[artist:Wayne Williams]]. Moved to New York in 1990 where he created the looped-up, layered 'wild pitch' style inspired by the parties thrown by DJs [[artist:Greg Daye]] and [[artist:Bobby Konders]]. A&R at [[label:Strictly Rhythm]] from February 1992 to April 1994. Founded [[label:DJP Records]] in 1999 and Afro Acid Muzik ([[label:Afro Acid Plastik]]) in April 2007. Moved to Atlanta, Georgia in 2008 and currently based in Duluth. Brother of Reuben Jones ([[artist:R. Jones (5)]]) aka [[artist:King Maurice]].
