About Brainbug
Alberto Bertapelle, better known by his stage name Brainbug, was an Italian symphonic electronic trance music producer and guitarist from Ceggia, Italy.

At the end of 1996, a track took everyone by surprise by its ghastly aspect and its pizzicato strings. "Nightmare" went on to be an international hit and kickstarted the 'Pizzicato Syndrome'.
Brainbug, a project of [[artist:Alberto Bertapelle]], had another success with "Benedictus", but further singles "The Eighth Dwarf" and "Rain" (with vocals) used the exact same formula and got lost in a sea of similar records: [[artist:Brooklyn Bounce]], [[artist:Lucid]], [[artist:Max Deejay]] and even deep house artist [[artist:Kevin Yost]] used the 'Pizzicato' sound until it wore thin and obsolete.
A cover of "Nightmare" released in 1997 by [[artist:Space Shuttle]] (an alias of [[artist:Dee Jay Sören]]), was called "We Have A Problem" and added the famous line 'Houston, we have a problem' in the middle break.
