First issue released with a free 12" and including two picture / credits liners. This release has semi gloss outer sleeve with wider blue coloured spines while the tracklists of the album are printed on both, left and right spines with yellow colour. Side A tracks are written on the left spine, side B tracks on the right spine, Moreover yellow ”SOFTCELL *THE ART OF FALLING APPART*” text is written on the blue bottom spine. Initial copies advertised the bonus single with a blue sticker on front sleeve. Recorded at the Camden Cell Aug/Sept '82 Titles A1 to C: Metropolis Ltd./Warner Bros. Music Ltd. D1: Carlin Music Corp. D2, D3: Intersong Music Ltd. Original sound recording made by Phonogram Ltd. (London) ℗ 1983 Phonogram Ltd. (London) except "Where The Heart Is" ℗ 1982 Phonogram Ltd. (London) [Incidental info:] Track A3 refers to the 1967 novel Numbers by John Rechy. Track C was inspirted by the 1977 horror film Martin directed by [[artist:George A. Romero]].
