The EP was withdrawn with all remaining copies destroyed soon after release, when [[label:Island Records]] sued Negativland and SST Records for copyright infringement and violating trademark law by using the name [[artist:U2]] without permission. Label claimed that the band deliberately confused U2 fans, who were buying 'next U2 album called Negativland', released just at the time they were expecting new LP, [m=20774]. In total, 6951 copies were sold to the public (~1600 on 12" and cassettes, 5300 CD's) plus 692 promotional copies distributed. There are also few bootlegs released. Ten years later, the EP was re-released by Negativland on their own label with many bonus tracks as [r=605285]. It was presented as a bootleg from 'suspicious sounding "Seelard Records" label'. In 1995, a 270-page book with a CD was published, [r=139466], documenting the whole 'U2 incident' and following events in great detail. The [r=9881035]s were made available for free download following Casey Kasem''s death in 2014.
