The Whistle Song was actually first created by Eric Kupper. Eric had met Frankie Knuckles & David Morales at Arthur Baker's Shakedown Sound Studios, & had done some work with them on "Tears" featuring vocalist Robert Owens. Later on in 1990 Eric heard Knuckles & Morales play at the Red Zone. After 1 particular night - a Def Mix party at Red Zone when Knuckles was djing - Eric was so inspired that the next day he went into the studio & came up with an untitled track (later to be called the whistle song). He gave a copy on cassette tape to Frankie, who transferred it onto reel-to-reel & began playing it at the Sound Factory... People were asking, "what's that track.. the whistle song one?" Then Eric, Frankie, & John Poppo put some more work into the track & it was released.
