Notes

"Spacewalk" is a semi-critical look at the peace, love, and hedonism of the early-'90s ecstasy scene. The track is based on a few samples taken from Deee-Lite's song "What Is Love?". In Momus' own words: "It's like Iggy Pop's Dum Dum Boys wrapped around a Brel song, Les Bonbons 67, for instance, which hits out at hippies for their superficial optimism. Inside isn't necessarily a good place to hole up: 'that's where the space is, that's where the love died'. The music gradually gets more committed, and the narrator seems to be falling into a black hole as he sings 'I want to see you, I want to feel you, I want to touch you, I want to be with you!' It isn't at all certain that he'll escape the crushing black pull of nothing, though."
