Liner Notes

The original 1999 Japanese version was released nine months before the worldwide Ninja Tune edition and has a different tracklist: it includes two two tracks excised from the reissue versions ("Ritmo Tabaco" and "Picazón") and longer/alternate versions of some tracks ("Havana's Streets", "Kennedy's Secret Tapes", "Mamí"). "Havana's Streets" is longer and has a piano part throughout that is missing in later versions. "Kennedy's Secret Tapes" is longer and has many different elements as well. "Mami" is an alternate take, and longer. The mastering on the Japanese version is louder, brighter, and crisper than on the reissue versions. The 2000 reissue versions came out almost a year later and include two added tracks ("Back The Deal" and "Carbine 744, 520...Che Guevara"), as well as shorter, alternate versions of "Havana's Streets", "Kennedy's Secret Tapes", and "Mamí".
