Early disco rap song, released in November 1979. It peaked at number 48 in the US dance chart for a single week. While it didn't chart in the Billboard Hot 100, it narrowly missed out on becoming the first international rap hit, being released shortly after [m=131354]. In some European countries, Rap-O Clap-O was in the top 10 at the same time as the [[artist:17550]] classic, early in 1980. Rap-O Clap-O is also one of the earliest recorded examples of rapping in Spanish. Additionally, it became the first rap song to be covered and parodied in other languages, including a German version by [[artist:3425061]] and a Dutch one by [[artist:189398]], which can be considered the first Dutch rap hit. In many countries Rap-O Clap-O was Bataan's only charting song, making him a one hit wonder in those territories.
