Recorded at Blank Tape Studios. New York, September 1981. The initial international release on Island Records contains the demo mixes of "Loveland", "Cake", and "Throw That Beat in the Garbage Can". These versions are substantially longer, rawer, and more electronic compared to the North American mixes: - "Loveland" is 5 minutes on the North American release and 8:33 on the original international release. - "Cake" is 5:48 on the North American release and 7:45 on the original international release. - "Throw That Beat in the Garbage Can is 4:30 on the North American release and 5:46 on the original international release. Because of these differences, the international edition was originally billed as a mini-album instead of an EP. Later reissues in these regions reinstate the North American mixes. The EP would be remixed again for inclusion on 1991's [[master:53930]].
