The 1979 Walter Gibbons version was the first remix to circulate, but it was the next set of remixes, in 1983, that elevated the song to the top of the dance charts. [[artist:2732]]'s 8-minute vocal/instrumental/acapella suite is the most famous. It was backed by separate vocal and instrumental versions by [[artist:2447]].
