Original release date 18th August 1983. The very first Alien Sex Fiend single ever released. Produced by [[artist:Youth]]. Number One in the punk / independent charts. Re-released in 1985 with different artwork (7") and b-side track (12") and as additional 'Special Electrode Mix' 12". The white vinyl version of this was only ever available with the 1990 [r=547519]. To open this song, A.S.F. uses an interpolation of [[master:3045419]] originally written and recorded in 1960 by Australian singer-songwriter [[artist:43428]]. Vocalist Nik Fiend delivers the borrowed lines in a distinctly eerie, distorted cadence. The interpolated lines heard at the very beginning of the track are: 'Sun arise come every morning, Sun arise come every morning, Bringing back the warmth to the ground.' -- Immediately after chanting these lines, the song shifts into its own bleak, electro industrial-goth imagery, starting with the line, 'I live in Siberia, through no fault of my own.'
