Single by George Michael, released in UK the first week of June 1987 and Banned by the BBC. The US release was on 29 May, having been rushed to market due to heavy radio play of the song as an album cut on the Beverly Hills Cop II soundtrack, which was on a competing label. The song has three separate parts dubbed "Rhythms" for the single release: • I Want Your Sex [video, single, and soundtrack album version] (4:44) – Very similar to the first part of the Faith album version, but the intro is unsegued and preceded by 4 LinnDrum conga hits before the 1st bass synth stab. On 7" singles it was titled "I Want Your Sex (Rhythm 1: Lust)" despite having a different intro than first part of the Monogamy Mix. • I Want Your Sex (Monogamy Mix) (13:14) – 12" & CD single version with "Rhythm 1: Lust" followed by "Rhythm 2: Brass in Love" which continues straight into "Rhythm 3: A Last Request". Also appears as a B-side on the "Hard Day" 12" releases. In the Monogamy Mix, "Rhythm 1: Lust", which is track 1 of the CD single, is not the same as the single (45) version with that same title; it has a cold intro with full percussion (kick, cowbell, etc.). After the first 23 seconds, it is the same as the single/album versions at 0:14 and onward. • I Want Your Sex (Rhythm 2: Brass in Love) (4:41) – The single B-side. As on the album, this is the second part of the Monogamy Mix, but with the end faded out before Rhythm 3 can begin. The *Faith* album presented them as "Parts": • I Want Your Sex (Parts 1 & 2) (9:16) – Part 1 was used for some reissues of the music video, and is essentially the video/single/soundtrack album version, but the intro omits the initial conga hits, and the previous track ("Father Figure") fades out over the first 1¼ second. Part 2 is the same as Rhythm Two from the Monogamy Mix, but faded out before Rhythm 3 can begin. Mastered 1.1% fast. • A Last Request (I Want Your Sex Part 3) (3:27) – This *Faith* cassette & CD bonus track is actually "Rhythm 3: A Last Request" with a faded-in intro repeating some of the fade-out heard in Part 2.
