"Fascination Street" was released as a single on 18 April 1989 in North America only. (Sources disagree about the exact date. Billboard said April 11th, a fan discography says April 10th, and the official Cure website used to say April 18th.) "[Lullaby](http://www.discogs.com/Cure-Lullaby/master/31913)" had originally been designated as the first single from the forthcoming album "[Disintegration](http://www.discogs.com/Cure-Disintegration/master/31755)". Elektra, The Cure's record company in North America, objected to this and chose Fascination Street as lead single instead. Given its remarkable success around the world, Lullaby was given a single release in North America as well later in 1989.
