[Sometimes appears as [[label:960978]]] Distribution company establisheded by former [[label:418932]] owners David Gibson, Alan Trench and Alison Webster in 1991. It began operation by distributing the artist-run industrial & 'apocalyptic folk' labels [[label:Durtro]] (Current 93), [[label:New European Recordings]] (Death In June), [[label:United Dairies]] (Nurse With Wound) and [[label:Tursa]] (Sol Invictus), after which other similar labels later joined the fold, such as [[label:Threshold House]]/[[label:Eskaton]] (Coil), [[label:Conspiracy International]] (Chris & Cosey) and [[label:Biter Of Thorpe]] (Danielle Dax/Lemon Kittens). World Serpent also functioned as a label, although they released very few records on their own. The vast majority of the releases they distributed were on other labels & imprints. World Serpent went bankrupt in August, 2004.
