WHTE LBLS

Est. 1939 US Part of American Recordings

Short lived dance music imprint of American Recordings, set up in 1992 by [[artist:Rick Rubin]] to introduce contemporary European electronic music to an American audience following a deal with Belgium's [[label:Antler-Subway]]. Largely focused on UK band [[artist:Messiah]] and material by Digital Orgasm/Lords of Acid (two acts from Belgian production trio [[artist:MNO]]). Closed in 1995 after it failed to meet its objectives in the face of grunge and the mid-90s popularity of industrial-based American electronic music.
