The label was launched in the middle of 1965 as a subsidiary budget line of [[label:Vox Productions, Inc.]] Just as [[label:VOX (6)]], this classical label focused on the less popular repertoire. Since May 1978, when Vox was sold to [[label:The Moss Music Group, Inc.]], this becomes the parent company. In the UK, the label launched in 1966 with manufacturing handled by Decca.
