Record Label
**Shaped Harmonics** was a Russian independent electronica/IDM label, established in the spring of 2001 by [[artist:Nick Zavriev]] ([[artist:Ambidextrous]]) and [[artist:Roman Belousov]] ([[artist:Novel 23]]), and active until mid-2006. The label distributed internationally, via [Norman Records](/label/802250) in the UK, [Duotone](/label/844340) and [Linus Records](/label/2992855) in Japan, [Tamizdat RPM](/label/750943) (Czech Republic), [[label:Risonanza Magnetica]] (Italy), [[label:9979]] (Australia), [[label:Apop Records]] (USA), and several other indie distributors and mailorders. In five years, Shaped Harmonics released one [12" single](/release/26499) and six CD albums. By June 2004, after the release of [SH CD 06](/release/293625), the partnership between Zavriev and Belousov was effectively over, since both artists had different creative interests and aspirations. The next scheduled releases, [SH CD 07](/release/163354) and [SH CD 08](/master/44876), were scrapped at the last moment, after early promos already went out. Nick Zavriev left Shaped Harmonics soon after; in December 1994, the cancelled release № 8 — *[r=454106]* by [[artist:Ambidextrous]] became the inaugural release on his new label, **[[label:SHUM Records]]**, co-founded with [[artist:Igor Rudyk]]. Roman Belousov continued running Shaped Harmonics as his solo venture. The following year, *[r=599102]* by [[artist:Novel 23]] came out — reclaiming the 'SH CD 03' cat. № skipped back in 2002. (The album was available in Russia in December 2005, with a subsequent worldwide release in February 2006). All activities ceased after, and Shaped Harmonics quietly went defunct. The original website domain expired after 2013.
