Record Label
Co-founded by [[artist:Charles Koppelman]], [[label:Select Records]] head Martin Bandier and Stephen Swid who purchased the music publishing unit of [[label:CBS Records]] in 1986. The trio founded [[label:980422]] as a production company in 1989 prior to selling it to [[label:EMI]] and launching the [[label:Capitol Records]]-distributed label. It was consolidated with [[label:Chrysalis]] and [[label:EMI Records USA]] to create EMI Record Group USA in 1994. The label's artists included [[artist:Vanilla Ice]], [[artist:Jon Secada]], [[artist:Wilson Phillips]], [[artist:Blur]], [[artist:Technotronic]], [[artist:Billy Dean]], [[artist:Lonnie Gordon]], [[artist:Boy George]], [[artist:Jesus Jones]], [[artist:Selena]] and actress [[artist:Milla Jovovich]].
