Record Label
Naxos, established in Hong Kong in 1987, has grown to become one of the world's largest classical music labels. Naxos was created by founder [[artist:Klaus Heymann]] as an offshoot of [[label:HNH International Ltd.]], Asia's largest record distributor, in order to meet the demand in the Far East for low-priced classical CDs. Originally, Naxos recordings were made in Slovakia and Hungary, but by 1994 new recordings and artists were added from Western Europe and America. Alongside [[artist:Maria Kliegel]] and [[artist:Jenö Jandó]], Naxos added contemporary composers [[artist:Henryk Górecki]], [[artist:Philip Glass]], [[artist:Michael Nyman]] and [[artist:John Tavener]]. Distributor: [[label:NGL Naxos Global Logistics GmbH]].
