Midi War

Est. 1939 US

Berlin-based mailorder from the [[label:Digital Hardcore Recordings (DHR)]] setting for distribution of the new paradigmatic Digital Hardcore sound and like-minded labels. Also self-manufactured tapes containing DJ mixes, live recordings and unreleased material from mostly DHR artists. Started out as "[[label:Midi War Tape Series]]", supplemented by the "[[label:Midi War Exclusive]]" series, to become individually styled without enumeration (and sometimes in lack of any labelling) later on. The first issue of "Midi War" emerged in early 1995, then run by [[artist:DJ Moonraker]], later as well by [[artist:Carl Crack]]. In about early 1996 it was taken over by [[artist:Joel Amaretto]] and relaunched as "[DHR Mailorder](https://www.discogs.com/label/2287840-DHR-Mailorder-Tapes)", through which he continued to make and distribute tapes in the same fashion including [bootleg tape series](http://www.discogs.com/label/Digital%20Hardcore%20Recordings%20%28DHR%29%20%282%29) unapprovedly labelled as DHR releases. This succeeding mailorder was abandoned in 1997 due to final disconnection with DHR (followed by Amaretto's own label and new mailorder).
