UK label; name derived from **M**usical **E**nergy & **L**oud **T**ruth. **M.E.L.T. 2000** evolved from the structure of [[label:B&W Music]] in 1996 and is run by Swiss-born [[artist:Robert Trunz]] (the ex-chairman of the B&W Loudspeaker company). In April 2002, M.E.L.T. 2000 went into voluntary liquidation. Mr. Trunz bought back the rights to the catalogue in December 2004, with the rights being now owned by [[label:Sound Reproductions Limited]] in Jersey and administered through the South African company **Melt Music Phase Two cc**. An acronym for **Musical Energy & Loud Truth beyond 2000**, the label has stopped releasing new World Music and Jazz recordings from the African continent and concentrates on its own back catalogue.
