Since its founding by [[artist:David Byrne]] in 1989, **Luaka Bop** has introduced [[artist:Os Mutantes]], [[artist:Shuggie Otis]], [[artist:Tim Maia]] and [[artist:William Onyeabor]] to the world at large, and become home to artists including [[artist:Floating Points]], [[artist:Tom Zé]], [[artist:Javelin]], [[artist:Moreno Veloso]], [[artist:Janka Nabay]], [[artist:Delicate Steve]] and [[artist:Bright Moments]], among others. Lived for a time at Warner Bros, Narada/Virgin/EMI, and V2; independent since 2006.
