Record Label
Started By Steven McCutcheon Aka Steven Mac British pop producer/songwriter, born January 15, 1972 in Surrey, England, The first song he wrote was Nomad's (I Wanna Give You) Devotion 1990, Number 2 Hit in the uk, **Jumpin' & Pumpin'** (1989–2016) was a prominent British independent record label, part of [[label:Passion Music]] group. Best-known for signing [[artist:The Future Sound Of London]] and publishing their earliest works before the seminal duo got a major record deal with [[label:Virgin]]. After the band's debut solo releases, *[m=6424]* 12" EP (12 TOT 17) and *[m=6395]* CD/LP/MC (## TOT 2) in 1991, Jumpin' & Pumpin' quickly rose to fame. (The second 'Accelerator' single, *[m=6470]* 12"/CDEP, came out in '94). Other notable early **J' & P'** releases include [[artist:8607]]'s first EPs and numeros spin-offs by FSOL's [[artist:Brian Dougans]] and [[artist:40049]], such as [[artist:Humanoid]], [[artist:7387]], [[artist:30362]], [[artist:7383]], [[artist:7408]], etc. Since 1993, Jumpin' & Pumpin' focused on "various artists" CD/LP compilations dedicated to specific genres: Goa & psytrance, techno, drum'n'bass and jungle, Happy Hardcore, ambient-house/liquid dub. Only a few odd "solo" releases came out on J' & P' in the late '90s (for instance, [Unlimited Dream Co](https://discogs.com/artist/18209)). In 2001, coinciding with FSOL/[[artist:Amorphous Androgynous]] "comeback," the duo returned to Jumpin' & Pumpin' with *[Papua New Guinea 2001](https://www.discogs.com/The-Future-Sound-Of-London-Papua-New-Guinea-2001/master/6424?filter=true&year=2001)* 12"/CD, [I][r=97753] 2xCD "expanded" reissue, and a brand-new "redux" album: *[m=6611]* CD/2xLP. Following **[[label:fsoldigital.com]]**'s launch in 2007, Jumpin' & Pumpin' produced a few more represses and unreleased collections by FSOL and Humanoid. Since 2009, however, those included only limited-edition, deluxe packages, such as *Record Store Day* exclusives. Jumpin' & Pumpin' appears defunct after 2016. The Future Sound Of London has continued using **## TOT ##** catalog numbers since then. **Distributed by**: ◇ 1989–1990 [[label:394845]] ◇ 1990–1993 [[label:264522]] ◇ 1993–1998 [[label:19882]]/[[label:149122]] ◇ 1999–2003 [[label:276104]]/[[label:149122]] ◇ 2004–2008 [[label:126516]] ◇ 2007–2008 [[label:Westbury Music]] ◇ 2012 [[label:270047]] ◇ 2016 [[label:285824]] **=Official description from [passion-music.com](https://web.archive.org/web/20051201022441/www.passion-music.com/)=** *jumpin' and pumpin'* Home of The Future Sound of London's "Papua New Guinea" album and spin-off creations.
