Miami, Florida based record label founded, owned & operated by Music Entrepreneur & Executive-Producer; [[artist:700287]] & [[artist:350661]]. The name for [[label:2827]] was derived from [[artist:5169336]] nicknaming his son [[artist:700287]]; "Josesito", loosely translated in English to "Joey Boy". Hence the label's named roots. While [[label:2827]]' first produced release in 1985 was a Reggae record. The label was geared towards the midstream genre of Freestyle and in the later eighties; evolved into the hard hitting local hip hop scene; known as "Miami Bass". An extremely popular style captured by the strip club environment that grew a huge following into the nineties. [[artist:700287]] is the son of [[artist:5169336]]; President & Owner of Miami based pressing plant [[label:405502]]; which was addressed next door to [[label:2827]]. Their distribution arm was called [[label:Joey Boy Records, Corp.]]
