Record Label
J Records was a private joint venture between former Arista CEO [[artist:Clive Davis]] and [[label:BMG Entertainment]], and was established after he was recruited by [[label:BMG Music]] (which had previously fired him from [[label:Arista Records]] in 2000). The label was a part of the **[[label:RCA]] Music Group**, itself a unit of [[label:Sony Music Entertainment]]. On September 26, 2011, the [[label:RCA Music Group]] was disbanded by [[label:Sony]], and on October 7, J Records, alongside sister labels [[label:Jive]], [[label:Arista]] and [[label:LaFace Records]], were all absorbed into [[label:RCA Records]], bringing all of its artists to the RCA family.
