After the closure of Fanfare Records in 1990, [[artist:Simon Cowell]] went to work as an A&R man for BMG U.K. (also in 1990); setting up his own imprint, I.Q. Records (via Arista Records U.K.). The last single to be promoted (but not commercially released) on Fanfare Records was Joanne ”Jump To The Beat” in late 1990. I.Q. Records released the single commercially on February 18, 1991. The final mixes on the 1991 commercial single are different to the original mixes found on the 1990 promotional single. Sonia was one of the first signings to his imprint. Arista Records U.K. / BMG U.K. shut down I.Q. Records in 1992, dropping most the acts signed to the label. Sonia was moved from I.Q. Records to Arista Records proper, issuing “Boogie Nights” in 1992 (the eventual lead single from her 1993 album “Better The Devil You Know”). Simon Cowell signed Sinitta (the first artist he signed to Fanfare Records) to Arista Records in 1992. Eventually, he created a new imprint, Ding Dong Records, in 1994 (via the revived Bell Records U.K. / Arista Records U.K.). That imprint shut down later the same year.
