Guardian Angel was set up and ran by [[artist:Arny Bink]] and [[artist:Tijs Verwest]] (aka [[artist:DJ Tiësto]]). In 1997 Bink and Verwest left the label and the Basic Beat family to start their own label; [[label:Black Hole Recordings]]. The label went on to issue releases of the well-known compilation series' **Forbidden Paradise** and **Lost Treasures** to 2000. At that time Roland Molendijk chose to leave the Basic Beat family and Ron Hofland decided to take the company into a new direction and some sub-labels, among them Guardian Angel, were discontinued.
