House, hip hop and dancehall record label founded in 1991 by [[artist:Todd Terry]] and [[artist:Will Socolov]] (who had established [[label:Fresh Records]] and [[label:Sleeping Bag Records]] in the mid-1980s). Label manager and executive producer: [[artist:Steve Oaklander]] aka Steve-O. Executive producer: [[artist:Michael A. Scott]]. Manufactured and distributed early [[label:Roc-A-Fella Records]] including [[artist:Jay-Z]]'s first album. The label folded around 1997. Oaklander went on to run [[label:Playland Records]]. Freeze was revived by [[artist:Todd Terry]] in January 2013, in collaboration with Dutch label [[label:Clone]]. Former parent label: [[label:Freeze Records, Inc.]] Sister label to [[label:Moon Roof]] / [[label:Moonroof Records]].
