Record Label
Cheiron was a Swedish label run by [[artist:Dag Volle]], [[artist:Max Martin]] and [[artist:Tom Talomaa]], located in Stockholm, Sweden. It traces its roots back to the deejay collective SweMix, which was split up in 1991. The DJ service, [[label:8217]], was sold to Giovanni Sconfienza and the rest of the company was soon after split up again. The production company, [[label:539223]], remained independent, while the record label and publisher, known as [[label:SweMix Records]] and Publishing, was sold to [[label:BMG]] in early 1993 and reformed to become Cheiron Productions under the leadership of Volle and Talomaa. Dag Volle was diagnosed with stomach cancer in late 1997 and passed away less than a year later. Despite huge international success, Cheiron closed its doors in 2000, mostly due to the passing of Dag Volle. Former Cheiron members [[artist:62244]], [[artist:64296]] and [[artist:252433]] later launched a new company called [[label:311714]], located in the same building. [[label:626070]] and [[label:272849]] were also founded by former Cheiron members, both located elsewhere in Stockholm.
