Record Label
[[label:Bonkers Records]] started in 1996 and was primarily a Happy Hardcore label. The label ran alongside the legendary Bonkers Mix Compilations & were working regularly with artists like [[artist:DJ Druid]], [[artist:Loopy]] & [[artist:Trixxy]]. [[artist:Sharkey]] was unhappy with the music he was creating as there was too much *happy* music in the scene and the scene needed some variety. He felt that artists had more to offer and they could do better. Bringing on artists like (Kevin) [[artist:Energy]], [[artist:Eclipse (18)]], [[artist:GSI]] and [[artist:Marc Smith]], a new sound was created. Classics like 'Future Dimensions', 'Here to Invade' and 'Ultraworld 5' were written and soon got tagged as *"Trancecore"*. [[artist:Sharkey]] soon became disillusioned with running a 12" label and [[label:Bonkers]] closed down in 1997. After a long break he started up the label again with the Stage One music company. Bringing in their artists, [[artist:Helix]] and [[artist:DJ Fury]], the group achieved a massive coup in hardcore - They got [[artist:Force Mass Motion]] to do a release, who in 1992 was creating some of the worlds biggest tracks for [[label:Rabbit City Records]] amongst others. [[artist:Sharkey]] has always tried to keep the focus and attention on the music being different from what is available around in the scene. At the moment Bonkers is going through a big change yet again. It's going back to its roots and hitting the party sound yet again. This is because the main label, [[label:Nu Energy]], is providing you with enough of the Trance & Freeform sound ... and as Sharkey said previously, *"Bonkers must be different"*. Two new artists have come through in [[artist:K-Komplex]] and [[artist:AMS]] after a couple of years training in the studio to become great assets to the collective. This was Sharkey's focus for the label ... To bring new artists into the fold and improve their productions. However, he has now rounded up Bonkerz as a 12" label and is concentrating on his new project **Kaotik Records**.
