UK-based soul, funk and jazz dance reissue label; name derived from **B**eat **G**oes **P**ublic. The initial label heads were DJs [[artist:Baz Fe Jazz]] and [[artist:Gilles Peterson]] - the name came from their initials but was dubbed Beat Goes Public - until their departure in the early 1990s. [[artist:Russ Dewbury]] was in charge for most of the 1990s. Current label head is [[artist:Dean Rudland]].
