Record Label
The British Broadcasting Corporation ([[label:101418]]) first introduced its own record label in 1967. It has used various names through the years. Please be sure to use the correct label: 1967-70 [[label:BBC Radio Enterprises]] 1970-74 BBC Records 1974-89 [[label:BBC Records And Tapes]] 1990s- [[label:BBC Worldwide]]. With a remit to release singles and albums connected to TV and radio programmes (plus royal souvenirs), its output has been extremely varied and takes in a large amount of spoken-word material as well as music in a wide range of styles including theme music released as singles. The [[artist:BBC Radiophonic Workshop]] established in 1958 created experimental music and other sounds used for programmes. Distributed in the United States by Gemcom Inc.
