Record Label
Atlanta, Georgia-based dance/r&b label created by [[artist:Larry Blackmon]] of [[artist:Cameo]] in 1983, primarily as an outlet for Cameo recordings, band members' side projects and Blackmon's own productions. Originally pressed and distributed in North America only (with [[label:Phonogram]] UK releasing the label's output on the [[label:Club]] label and other markets releasing it on [[label:Mercury]]). The label was closed after Cameo left [[label:PolyGram]] for [[label:Reprise Records]] in the early 1990s. The Atlanta Artists catalog was then folded into Mercury, which ironically manages the 1976-82 [[label:Casablanca Records]]/[[label:Chocolate City]] Cameo catalog.
