US label. ALMO Sounds was launched in 1994 by Herb Alpert & Jerry Moss, former owners of **[[label:A&M Records]]**. The label was distributed through **Geffen** in the US, **Pinnacle** in the UK, **MCA** in Europe, **Festival** in Australia, and **Pioneer Music** in Japan. US distribution changed to **Interscope** in 1998. In 2000, Almo Sounds was sold to **[[label:Universal]]** and remains an imprint label.
