One of the most acclaimed jazz & soul musicians of the 1970s-1980s. He is best known as a founding member of The Jazz Crusaders, founded in the late 1950s while still in high school in Houston, and later shortened to [[artist:The Crusaders]]. Felder was extremely busy as a west coast studio musician, playing saxophone and electric bass, on various soul, R&B, and rock albums with artists such as [[artist:Marvin Gaye]], [[artist:John Cale]], [[artist:Bobby Womack]], [[artist:Randy Newman]], [[artist:Jackson 5]] & [[artist:Joni Mitchell]]. He also had a modest solo output. Felder played a King Super 20 tenor sax with a metal 105/0 Berg Larsen mouthpiece. He also used Yamaha saxes. He played a Fender Precision bass, and also played Aria bass guitars.
