When is the one-man band of Lars Pedersen (born 1961 in Oslo), who started in 1983 under the name Hospital Blimp, before changing the name to When. Pedersen operates in different music styles and mixes elements from several genres such as psychedelia, avant-garde, experimental, pop, electronics, contemporary music, classical music and noise music. Pedersen plays most of the instruments and composes all the music.
