About Trevor Loveys
British electronic DJ, producer, and artist.
Loveys started recording in the early 1990s after being inspired listening to producers such as [[artist:Ron Trent]], [[artist:Abacus]], [[artist:Blaze]], and [[artist:Masters At Work]]. He taught himself keyboards and drum programming after buying a synth and Akai sampler and after spending a year developing his sound and production skills he released his first single, "[m=184602]" (1996) under pseudonym [[artist:Soul Motive]] on the [[label:Nuphonic]] label. This release caught the attention of producers and music press alike, gaining respect from [[artist:Deep Dish]], [[artist:Kevin Mckay]], and [[artist:Everything But The Girl]]'s [[artist:Ben Watt]].
[[artist:House Of 909]] is the production outfit Loveys is best known for, and it was on the eponymous [[label:House Of 909]] label that he released all his early productions. Loveys' music caught the attention of [[artist:Richard Breeden]], manager at the legendary [[label:TRIBAL United Kingdom]] label, and then the UK arm of [[label:Pagan]], and it was this label that gave Loveys the chance to record his first album "[m=144469]" (1997). The album put Loveys on the deep house map, and it attained album of the month in publications [[label:Muzik Magazine]] and [[label:DJ Magazine]], not to mention features in the [NME](https://www.discogs.com/label/15335-New-Musical-Express), [[label:Music Week]], and [[label:i-D Magazine]].
In 1998, after having some personal and creative differences with his partner [[artist:Nigel Casey]], Loveys decided to go solo and started producing for his friend [[artist:Omid Nourizadeh]] (aka [[artist:16B]])'s label [[label:Alola]]. He then started to collaborate with his bass playing friend [[artist:Chris Pedley]] to create the album "[m=11157]" (1999), which crossed the boundaries from deep house and electro, to broken beat and downtempo – being made album of the month in magazine [Ministry](https://www.discogs.com/label/4162-Ministry-Magazine).
Loveys continues to develop his sound, and working on projects for various labels including [[label:Ephemoral Recordings]], [[label:Loungin' Recordings]], as well as the [[label:Freerange Records]], along with his [[artist:Soul Sides]] project that he is working on with producer [[artist:Solid Groove]].
Loveys also runs a monthly "Soul Sides" club night in the Consortium Club, Bournemouth, UK as well as with guesting at [[label:Freerange Records]] and [[label:Front Room Recordings]] club nights across London, UK.
